Every year for the past few years first responders from all around the county and surrounding counties have been gathering in front of the Golisano Children’s Hospital on Wednesday nights during the holiday season and turning on their emergency lights for about 5 minutes and wave good night to the children in the hospital, from what I’ve seen on social media and heard from people there, this absolutely gives the children great joy which they need and deserve!
A signup sheet will be posted at drill the week before each event to give everyone an equal opportunity to get in on this magnificent event.
This event starts on 11/30 and is followed by 3 more dates which are 12/7, 12/14, and 12/21. The RPD which heads up the event asked everyone participating to be there as close to 17:40 as possible to get everyone into position and turn their lights on at 18:00 and disband by 18:05.
Only 1 engine will be used from the BBFD, however fire police are welcome to join in with their vehicle also. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you!
